The history of the Fazio Company goes back four generations of people dedicated to the art vine-growing and wine-making. Recently Vicenzo and Girolamo have modernized the structures and production techniques in line with the needs of the actual market. This modernization first involved the management of the vineyards by a staff of technicians directed by wine expert Giacomo Anzaldi, a Sicilian and therefore an expert of the territory, who carried out reconversion of production to make the most of local vines without ignoring the nobler international ones. His experience which comes from working on the territory and studies abroad is also useful in production. In order to strengthen the ties between production and this unique territory, Vincenzo Fazio has promoted a plan to obtain D.O.C. recognition for Erice which will come in to being, for the 2005 harvest. In this way the Fazio family have turned the company into one of the most modern and dynamic, not only in its own territory, but in the whole of Sicily.
